....

Great idea!
Recycling is huge in Australia...maybe, we could even expand it to a few other countries...just so kids can have a choice. It will also be cool to compare a few different systems/viewpoints.

Thoughts?

Also,  I invited you to the doc...want to work on it now?

Project Idea

I love your idea for the concept! I was thinking that maybe we could do Australia. I know they have a different system and rules for recycling than we do here in the United States. I think it would be fun and informative for kids to compare Australia's rules and guidelines for recycling to ours. What do you think?

cont.

Hey! Yeah I can do the doc...I was just looking at it.
My gmail is katie.eberling@gmail.com

So here is my idea: i think we should try to make it a creative project for the kids versus just a research thing. Like some sort of advertising project for recycling or something. Any ideas...and what countries could we communicate with?

I'll set up the doc now so we can get started

gmails

Hey guys. What are your gmail account names again?

Tonight

Hey are you on? I can work on it now. :)
I wouldn't mind doing the map if you create the document and invite me.

assignment

Let's work on it tonight?

Module 4

Okay, I read through week 4 and it sounds like one of us has to start a google doc and invite everyone, and then someone else needs to start a google map and also invite everyone.

Once we are all accepted, we will all have access to work on both docs. Is that what you guys got from it too? I dont mind starting one, who would like to do the other?

Also, any ideas on what cultural understanding/global awareness assignment we could do connected to recycling?

I would rather get this done sooner than later... if that works for you guys!

Websites

http://earth911.com/recycling/
www.epa.gov/recyclecity this is a great website for teachers!
http://www.recyclingcompanies.org/
http://www.world.org/weo/recycling provides a list of the top 100 websites for recycling!
All of there websites look great! I'm really excited to get going.

Are we also supposed to post these on e-learning or is this fine? I'm a little confused.

concept map

Hey! I think this is a really strong start to the map. There are a ton of areas for us to still cover in the future, and I think it is a really strong base to go off of.
I think that is all we have left to do this week besides our individual reflection, good work!!

Concept Map

Hey- if you click on the actual concept map in my last post it should pop it up and make it easier for you guys to read.

Concept Map #1

Hey guys! Here's the first concept map for our topic: recycling. I started with the topic and branched out into other subtopics that we may or may not choose to focus on. I hope you both like it. Let me know what you think!

Inspiration

Hello Meg and Melissa-
What sorts of things do you think we should include in our concept map? And who wants to upload the first map ( I think we all need to do one)

A few main questions I was thinking we could branch off of:
-What can you recycle
-How to recycle
-Why recycle
-What happens after you recycle

What were you thinking?
